Youth Center BIT is an EVS accredited organisation (2015-1-SI02-KA110-012581). We have been doing the EVS since 2007 and have so far hosted over 20 volunteers from Lithuania, France, Romania, FYRM, Serbia, Portugal, Denmark and Turkey. He have also sent two of our volunteers out on EVS in Serbia and Poland.
At the moment, our organisation is hosting three Portuguese volunteers (Fernando, Raquel and Sandra).
The European Voluntary Service enables young people (between the ages of 17 and 30) to carry out voluntary service for up to 12 months in a country other than their country of residence. It fosters solidarity among young people and is a true “learning service”. Beyond benefiting local communities, volunteers learn new skills and languages, and discover other cultures. Non-formal learning principles and practice are reflected throughout the project. An EVS project can focus on a variety of themes and areas, such as culture, youth, sports, social care, cultural heritage, arts, civil protection, environment, development cooperation, etc.
What do the volunteers do in our organisation?
The volunteers take part in all our projects and activities. Some of the activities they take part of are:
– help with the workings of the Info Office
– helping other organisations with their projects
– representing their culture and language to the public
– developing personal competences
– developing a personal project
